Sheep are undoubtedly one of the first to be domesticated, with evidence of ancient woven wool fibers found in Northern Europe (Switzerland) and dated to 20,000 years ago. Their domestication is attributed to their relative ease to handle, their tendency to flock and remain together as a group especially when herded, their tendency to follow a leader, and their ability to be herded and guarded by trained dogs. Sheep provide meet and wool products.
